Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Aldershot / Hybrid
Contract Type: Contract (6 months)
Pay: £40–50 per hour DOE (Outside IR35)
About the Role
A technology-focused engineering organisation is seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer to provide additional design capacity on a live engineering programme. The role centres on mechanical design support, design updates, and documentation to assist ongoing development activities.
What You’ll Do
• Design and update mechanical parts and assemblies
• Produce 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings
• Provide engineering support with occasional on-site presence
• Carry out basic structural checks and design verification
• Review, update, and adapt existing designs
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary engineering team
What We’re Looking For
• Solid mechanical design experience in a development environment
• Strong SolidWorks capability
• Basic FEA / structural analysis exposure
• Practical, hands-on engineering approach
• Comfortable working autonomously in a contract role
• Able to start at short notice
