The Opportunity
This is a technical role, focusing on providing the smooth running of a number of I.T. hardware systems within Landmark Information Group. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, managing multiple concurrent tasks with varying technologies.
The role will involve, but will not be limited to:
13. Managing physical server and storage infrastructure to ensure all systems function as required and meet the targeted Service Level Agreements.
14. Ensuring internal and external applications and associated infrastructure are functioning correctly, by undertaking proactive monitoring and analysis, resolving problems and escalating as appropriate.
15. Working with other Analysts in maintaining Information systems in accordance with agreed priorities and standards.
16. Keeping documentation up-to-date and, where required, assist in the provision of training and support to users; Ensure housekeeping procedures adhered too.
17. Investigating user requirements for application and infrastructure changes, design and implement appropriate solutions.
18. Regularly analysing systems to ensure that they are capable for future planned capacity and functionality.
19. Supporting Landmarks IT Development processes in the provision of new of improved products and services.
20. Ensuring the smooth functioning of Landmark IT infrastructure; liaise with 1st and 2nd line teams, application support, developers, product managers, suppliers and other analysts as required to this end.
About You
You will have extensive proven experience in a technical support and implementation role as well as proven experience in providing 3rd line support in a similar field. You will be able to analyse problems and the determine the appropriate solutions.
You will also be/have:
21. Exposure to Open Source, Containerisation and DevOps methodologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc.)
22. Linux OS maintenance, including software rollout procedures, Backup software setup and management.(RedHat Family and/or/ Ubuntu)
23. In-depth experience in technical support encompassing varying hardware and software platforms
24. Experience on providing helpdesk style technical support to internal and/or external users
25. Ability to understand user requirements and translate into technical solutions
26. Varied Windows and Linux Operating Systems administration skills
27. Networking Skills including LAN / WAN and Internet, Strong TCP/IP skills
28. Experience of virtualisation technologies (VMware/KVM/QEMU/Xen)
