Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in the Blood Sciences department at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.
Its an exciting time with a new Blood Sciences laboratory open covering haematology, blood transfusion and clinical chemistry. The job purpose is to provide laboratory, clerical & data entry support and reception cover as part of a laboratory team. The receipt of samples from within the hospital and surrounding GP practices.
Responsibilities
* Sample preparation, request data entry and presentation for analysis as appropriate.
* To support the specific and technical and clerical duties alongside Biomedical Scientists as part of a team to facilitate the smooth running of the service.
* Provide reception support as required and handle sample receipt from hospital and GP practices.
Hours and Location
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week. A flexible attitude to working hours is essential. The hours are currently within a framework of 08.00-20.00 including weekend & Bank Holiday working. These arrangements are subject to continuing review.
