Role Overview
Incipio curates beautiful spaces with vibrant atmospheres for great times. The Welfare Officer works closely with the Management Team on peak shifts, ensuring all guests and team are safe. This includes looking after vulnerable guests, safely escorting intoxicated guests out, identifying and reporting drug use, supporting the team with refusal of service, ensuring water is available for guests, and reporting on all Safety, Security and Licensing activities.
Responsibilities
* Monitor all guests within the venue to identify guests who may show signs of vulnerability such as intoxication, unwanted attention, being left alone by friends or colleagues, limited access to transport, or signs of distress.
* Support the Bar Team after alcohol sales are refused or guests are asked to leave by Door Supervisors, ensuring the guest is moved to the nominated welfare space, reunited with friends or colleagues, offered water, and assisted with safe transport home.
* Support the Manager on duty and SIA Door Supervisors during the dispersal period, monitoring guests as they leave and offering support as required.
* Log all welfare interventions in the ‘Welfare Log’ at the close of business, including time, details of support offered and resolution, then have the duty manager check and cross‑reference with all refusals of alcohol sales.
Qualifications
* WAVE trained.
* Caring and empathetic with strong communication skills.
* Calm under pressure and able to remain composed in overwhelming situations.
* Experience in late‑night bars, venues or security roles.
* Strong spatial awareness and friendly, approachable demeanor.
* Ability to multitask, reliable, trustworthy and with high integrity.
