Haddenham Garden Centre is a family owned business which has been established for over 45 years.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hands on individual with a keen interest in retail and customer service to join our team.
This is a varied role which will involve till work and working across the Garden Centre departments on a Thursday and a Friday as a General Assistant and helping to supervise the smooth running of our tills on alternate weekends. The hours of work would be as follows:
General Assistant- 12 hours per week, 10:30am to 4.30pm on a Thursday and 10am to 5pm on a Friday with a half an hour lunch break each day.
Till Supervisor-15 hours every other weekend, 9am-5.30pm on a Saturday and 9.30-5pm on a Sunday with a half an hour lunch break each day.
Total working hours would average 19.5 hours per week.
Key responsibilities:
* Accurately operating the tills and serving customers
* Supervising the tills on your working weekend (Full training and support will be provided)
* Supervising our customer service desk, delivering excellent service to our customers, which includes providing advice and ensuring that all customer queries are dealt with in full and in a timely manner
* Answering phone calls and directing queries to the relevant departments as required
* General housekeeping to ensure high standards of presentation are maintained.
* Providing support to other departments with duties such as pricing and stock replenishment
Skills/Experience required for the role:
* Previous retail experience is desirable
* Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to quickly build a good rapport with customers and colleagues
* Good level of IT literacy
* Highly organised with high attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to remain calm in busy periods
* Able to work on own initiative
* Must be fit and capable of manual work as the role will involve bending and lifting
