The Opportunity
We’re representing a forward-thinking building services consultancy in Fareham that is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a key role, leading the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable mechanical services across commercial, residential, education, and healthcare projects.
You’ll play a pivotal part in shaping design solutions, mentoring engineers, and working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through to completion.

What You’ll Do
* Take ownership of the mechanical design process for building services (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water systems).
* Produce and review design calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
* Coordinate effectively with clients, project teams, and other engineering disciplines.
* Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
* Ensure all designs meet UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance, and sustainability standards.
* Actively contribute to client meetings, workshops, and design reviews.
* Support business development and help drive continuous improvement across the consultancy.

What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (BEng, MEng, or equivalent).
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (IMechE, CIBSE, or similar).
* At least 5+ years of consultancy-based experience in mechanical building services design.
* Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and building services systems.
* Proficiency with design software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit, and AutoCAD.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
* Proven track record in managing complex projects and guiding design teams.
