Annexe 21 Trainee B7 Epilepsy Clinical Nurse Specialist- Acute Services Medical Directorate
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to undertake a developmental training post to become an Epilepsy Clinical Nurse Specialist based within NHS Fife Acute Services Medical Directorate to support clinical delivery and service developments. Annexe 21 (Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions) will apply until successful completion of the training programme. There will be a requirement to undertake and achieve a Post graduate qualification in Advanced Practice in order to attain the band 7 level of the post.
You should have significant experience in Neurology/Stroke/Neuro-rehabilitation practice. You should be able to demonstrate well established clinical skills, knowledge and experience, and of working with adults across the age span presenting with epilepsy and complex needs.
You are required to be a Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration and also be able to demonstrate continuing professional development with evidence of post registration qualification.
Responsibilities
* Join a well established and developing service designed to meet the treatment, clinical management and holistic needs of people with epilepsy.
* Demonstrate experience of team working, high-level communication skills, critical analysis/problem solving capabilities and ongoing personal and professional development.
* Manage an assigned workload with day-to-day responsibility for assessment, care planning, medical treatment management and evaluation of patient care.
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary/partnership working across NHS services and participate in peer review, clinical supervision and personal and professional development.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
* Evidence of continuing professional development with post-registration qualification.
* Experience and evidence of neurology-related clinical practice, particularly with adults presenting with epilepsy and complex needs.
* Willingness to undertake and complete a Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Practice to achieve band 7 level.
* Be prepared to participate in PVG Scheme before appointment.

* The NHS Fife Epilepsy service supports multi-disciplinary and partnership working across NHS services and emphasizes peer review, clinical supervision and ongoing development.
* Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate, dependent on the duration of the training period (see Terms and Conditions).
