We seek managers who are passionate about system reliability to influence and drive the strategic SRE mission. Scope Site Reliability Engineering is the heart of solving production problems. The position requires the flexibility to take a holistic approach to troubleshooting and the ability to delve deeply into technical details. The SRE Deployment Engineer will build and utilise automation tools for system health and production acceptance tests to validate production changes. The SRE will ensure the system is well instrumented and highly fault tolerant. The SRE will acquire the necessary domain knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and repair an outage. This is a very hands-on role. You will be involved in ensuring our cloud platforms are observable, measurable, reliable, scalable, and maintainable. It's likely that the successful candidate will have significant experience in a DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineer, or Cloud Development role. Responsibilities What you'll be doing Act as Engineering contact for product build, deployment, and release questions. Act as the 'gatekeepers' of production, and actively manage the work backlog and develop deployment and reliability improvements. Lead investigations into root cause outages, performance, and cost issues. Lead initiatives to develop the automation of low-value tasks balanced against project delivery demands. You will provide technical leadership and to wider Cloud Operations and Support teams along with providing oversight to the products and services they support. You will automate the deployment and release mechanism. You will work with R&D and Cloud Ops team to ensure seamless delivery of products to the customer environment. Knowledge and experience we're looking for: We recommend having most items in the "Must-have" category or a similar alternative. Example, proficient in Terraform but not BICEP, OR GitHUB Actions and not DevOps pipelines, would have no problem switching across. Must have Experience of build, deployment, and release activities. Experience with infrastructure/configuration as code (BICEP, ARM) Experience with version control (Azure DevOps GIT). Significant experience with Azure PAAS, SAAS and IAAS services. Exposure to Azure DevOps pipelines is essential. Production experience with Kubernetes and containerization. Experience with continuous deployment and delivery practices. Experience of deploying in a multi-tenant environment. Experience in solving problems through automation. Experience with rollbacks, backup, and disaster recovery best practices. Experience and in-depth knowledge of databases and data handling (MS-SQL, Elasticsearch, YML, JSON, XML). Demonstrable experience of supporting live cloud services and platforms. Proficiency in specifying and implementing testing and production environment infrastructure. Expertise with automated testing products, including how to set up automated testing, how to script automated tests, how to create automated regression test suites, and how to troubleshoot automated testing issues. Nice to have Experience in programming or advanced scripting (C#, PowerShell etc.). Experience with secure coding & security awareness. Experience working with R&D delivery teams. Experience of working with Product company developing enterprise software. Cross-platform experience and the expertise to identify and resolve integration issues. Experience in handling incident, problem, and change management aspects.
