A well-established multi-service law firm in Leicester known for doing things properly — for their clients and their people - are expanding their Criminal team and seeking a Solicitor to augment their criminal offering across the region.
This is a genuine opportunity for a Criminal Solicitor who wants trust, flexibility, and the freedom to run their own caseload without micromanagement. The role
You’ll be handling a varied criminal defense caseload, with exposure across the full spectrum of criminal work. Day to day, you’ll be:
* Managing your own criminal defense caseload from start to finish
* Representing clients at Police Stations and Magistrates’ & Crown Court
* Preparing cases for trial, including advocacy where appropriate
* Advising clients clearly and practically throughout proceedings
* Drafting legal documents, instructions to counsel, and case strategies
* Working closely with colleagues to ensure seamless client service
* Building trusted relationships with clients, counsel, and court staff
About you
* Qualified Criminal Defense Solicitor (or equivalent experience)
* Comfortable running your own caseload
* Practical, client-focused, and calm under pressure
* Someone who values teamwork but doesn’t need hand-holding
