Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship – Derby

Do you want to earn a salary while completing a degree at the University of Warwick?

Create solutions that enable a better tomorrow. To participate in designing our future projects we are looking for an Apprentice to join us. Working on a variety of civil engineering projects you’ll carry out engineering designs and assessments alongside our team.

Your key responsibilities will be:

* With the support of your project manager plan and prioritise your workload
* Contribute to solving technical problems with your team
* Carry out engineering designs and assessments
* Prepare design reports and drawings
* Collaborate with Engineers across many disciplines
* Be responsible for delivering your own work to a high standard
* Attend site visits and client meetings as required

On top of that you’ll have:

* A commitment to complete a five‑year degree while working
* A Levels AAA grade including Mathematics and a Physical Science. Applicants without A level Mathematics may be subject to passing a Maths assessment
* BTEC Diploma grade D*D* with an A grade in A level Mathematics or subject to passing a Maths assessment
* BTEC Extended Diploma grade DDD including two Mathematics units Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems and Further Engineering Mathematics or subject to passing a Maths assessment

Candidates who have not completed their studies can apply on the basis of predicted grades but the final selection will be subject to achieving the required grades.

Studying – If accepted you’ll pursue a BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering with the University of Warwick which involves in‑person classes on campus, lectures, and seminars on diverse subjects including structural and geotechnical engineering. You’ll also engage in office‑based learning and work towards gaining Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. We’ll support you the entire way, pay for your qualification and introduce you to a mentor to coach and guide you through your development journey.

What you’ll receive

* Annual wage
* Working week: permanent position 37.5 hours per week, paid for normal hours and training that is part of the apprenticeship

Expected duration – 5 years. You must be available to commence employment in September 2026 to be considered for this role.
