Reporting to the Senior Manager for Reactor Coolant Systems, the Manager for Reactor Inventory Systems is a leadership figure within Engineering with line management responsibility for approximately 6-10 engineers and is responsible for design development of : Reactor Chemical and Volume Control Systems – this system group comprises the functionality of managing primary circuit inventory and chemistry specification to ensure safe and efficient operation of the reactor primary circuit. Reactor Sampling and Monitoring Systems – this system group comprises the sensing and assessment of primary and secondary systems to ensure they are within technical specification and containing only expected and tolerable radiological species. Reactor Hot Laboratory – this area comprises monitoring equipment and infrastructure required for the continuous operation of the primary and secondary circuits interacting with the Sampling and Monitoring Systems. You will ensure the validity of the technical solutions developed under your direction, including delivering a robust design and safety justification supported by detailed system analyses that will include thermal hydraulic performance, reliability, safety (e.g. HAZID/HAZOP, security, safeguarding), human factors, commissioning, decommissioning and maintenance. You will also lead cross-disciplinary teams and engagw with analysts/Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for their support. You will bring strong design expertise, proven leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate others, as well as: Chartership, or en route to qualification therefor, through a relevant institution, such as the IChemE, IET or IMechE.
