About the Role
We are seeking an Ophthalmology Registrar to join our Ophthalmology Department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital. We are looking for someone from March onwards or mid-year from 3 August.
You will enjoy a wide variety of outpatient care, alongside theatre experience and occasional inpatient care. Our registrar team have a variety of responsibilities including running the acute clinic services. They also work alongside SMOs in clinic, minor procedures and the operating theatre. Our registrars are also able to work in laser clinic and anti-VEGF injection clinics. On call duties expect our registrars to work with inpatient cases and the emergency department.

You will also have the chance to participate in specialized clinics such as the laser clinic and anti-VEGF injection clinics. On-call duties include managing inpatient cases and responding to emergencies in the emergency department.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The successful candidate would join a team of 5 Registrars, you will have the full support of 3 Specialist Consultants and work closely with 1 House Officer.
Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people. We offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and more.
