We are seeking a highly organised Referrals Coordinator to join our team at Caldbeck Surgery, providing maternity leave cover for a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The contract would start in early September 2025 and run until the end of February 2026.
Working 20-25 hours, we ideally look for someone to work 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday; however, this is negotiable.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and process referrals from GPs and other clinical staff.
* Ensure accurate and timely input of referral data using EMIS Web and referral management systems.
* Liaise with hospitals, community services, and patients regarding referral appointments.
* Track and follow up on referral outcomes to ensure continuity of care.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and NHS policies at all times.
* Support colleagues with other administrative tasks if required.
About us
Caldbeck Surgery is a rural dispensing practice with 4,300 patients and 5 GP Partners.
It is also a training practice currently hosting 3 Doctors in training for General Practice.
Job responsibilities
You will work alongside our current referral team for 1 month before taking full responsibility for all aspects of the referral process during your contract. You will liaise with clinicians, external services, and patients.
Caldbeck Surgery uses the EMIS clinical system.
You will be working within a supportive, busy office environment with other administrators and may assist with processing emails, insurance reports, and other administrative tasks as time allows.

* Previous experience in a primary care or NHS setting.
* Strong knowledge of referral processes and systems.
* Proficiency in EMIS Web is essential.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Transport
* Driving licence and access to a car, as public transport options are unavailable.
