Birchwell Associates is partnering with a leading data centre operator to appoint a Datacentre Manager for a flagship site in Farnborough. This is a senior position with full responsibility for operational performance, client engagement, and the management of critical infrastructure within a high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage on-site operations, ensuring 24/7 uptime and service excellence
* Oversee third-party providers across mechanical, electrical, and security services
* Manage and develop a team of engineers and technicians, driving performance and accountability
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, including during incidents and service disruptions
* Ensure all maintenance, compliance, and health & safety standards are met
* Drive continuous improvement across operations, processes, and service delivery
* Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost optimisation initiatives
* Oversee capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management
Requirements
1. 5+ years experience in data centre operations, with at least 23 years in a leadership or management role
2. Strong working knowledge of mechanical & electrical (M&E) infrastructure within critical environments
