North Lanarkshire Council has set out an ambition to improve the lives of people who use Justice Services and the way support is provided. North Lanarkshire Council has created two exciting opportunities for individual who have “lived experience” of the Justice system to join our team in Justice within Education and Families.
In partnership with other services and agencies you will support the development of practice, culture, and systems to improve outcomes for people who are involved in Justice Services and potentially could be experiencing a variety of different issues in their life. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the wider aspirations of Justice Services to people in North Lanarkshire, through a transformation of the way support is provided.
Through your specific skills and experience you will contribute to the development of approaches and systems that deliver North Lanarkshire’s Council’s Justice Services Plan, with a particular focus on the Justice lived experience voice. You will encourage active involvement and participation and listen to what people say ensuring their voices are truly heard regarding the decisions that are made about their lives.
You need to have direct “lived” experience and knowledge of the Justice System. You should also have experience of either working or volunteering within the Justice System or Recovery Services. We are looking for individuals who already have experience of a range of engagement and participation methods including social medial and other digital tools and of service improvement activities either locally or nationally.
You need to be confident, enthusiastic and have the ability to inspire, motivate, and influence others.
