Base pay range

We’re on the hunt for a skilled Management Accountant to join us on a Fixed Term Contract to take the lead in producing monthly financial results and balances. This key role involves managing the balance sheet reconciliation process and ensuring that month-end financial reports provide an accurate reflection of the underlying transactions. What will you be doing?

As a Management Accountant at Yorkshire Housing, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our month-end and year-end financial reporting. You’ll take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, support the production of accurate financial reports, and work closely with colleagues across finance to ensure our systems and processes run smoothly. You’ll also supervise an Assistant Accountant and collaborate with the Fixed Asset Accountant on property-related transactions.

This role involves a mix of hands-on accounting, system maintenance, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll help drive improvements in financial controls, support audits, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, all while helping others across the business understand their financial performance.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations for delegated areas
* Maintaining and developing the chart of accounts and financial ledger system
* Supporting property sales accounting, including shared ownership and disposals
* Supervising an Assistant Accountant and coordinating period-end tasks
* Assisting Finance Business Partners with variance analysis and reporting
* Preparing KPI reports and supporting the annual budget and forecasting process
* Liaising with auditors and ensuring timely, accurate information is provided
* Delivering training and support to finance and non-finance colleagues on systems and procedures

Who are we looking for?

The answer is simple - if you are hardworking, driven and ready for a new challenge, we want to hear from you.

The rest would also be great too –

* Previous management accounting experience
* Strong reconciliations experience, particularly balance sheet
* High level of numeracy
* Excellent attention to detail
* ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or CIMA qualified
* Experience of using Open Accounts, or a similar financial ledger system
* Advanced Excel skills
* Highly organised, and strong prioritization skills.
* Have strong interpersonal skills, be confident, collaborate with others and communicate effectively.

This a full-time, fixed term role with an end date of 31st May 2026. The salary is £52,142 per annum, for a 35 hour week plus 26 days annual leave per annum (rising annually to 31 days) plus Bank Holidays.
