Raw Materials Coordinator
Pontefract, West Yorkshire
£40,000 – £45,000 per year
Monday – Friday (08:30–17:00 or 06:00–15:00)
Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of quality in raw materials? We’re looking for an experienced Raw Materials Coordinator to join a well-established food manufacturing business in West Yorkshire. This factory-based role is vital in maintaining and improving raw material quality, ensuring compliance with specifications, and building strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Review raw materials against specifications and update supplier specifications as needed.
Work closely with the technical team to maintain approved raw material standards.
Conduct product assessments during intake and production, using monitoring methods such as Foss analysis and butchery checks.
Report findings (positive and negative) to Technical, Commercial, and Operational teams.
Build strong, compliance-led relationships with suppliers, addressing quality issues proactively.
Raise NCRs or rejection notices for materials not meeting specifications.
Support supplier visits and audits with the Technical Manager.
Provide training and support to production teams on butchery specifications and meat cuts.
Create regular reports and trend analysis to monitor supplier and product performance.
Drive continuous improvement in butchery methods, packaging formats, and raw material use.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong background in food manufacturing, preferably with meat and butchery knowledge.
Experience working with raw material specifications, quality systems, and compliance.
Confident in communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
Analytical mindset with the ability to create reports and identify trends.
Practical approach, comfortable with factory-based work and supplier site visits.
