Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to join the public sector as a Driver with Caring duties to join the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust. You will provide a service in both the Acute and Community sectors. About the role:
1. £12.75 per hour
2. Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
3. 37.5 hours per week
4. Location: Ards Hospital (or centre within the North Down & Ards area)
5. Temporary ongoing for approximately 12 weeks

What you'll be doing in this role:
7. Daily collection and conveyance of Trust clients and/or officers as allocated.
8. Collecting and conveying staff and clients for social and educational outings and during holiday trips.
9. Securing clients travelling with recommended restraint devices.
10. Where necessary assist clients, including those using wheelchairs or walking aids, etc in any manner possible with regard to their needs e.g. preparation for transit to (and on return home) centres and functions, doing up laces, switching off lights and appliances etc.
11. Assist clients into and out of vehicles.
12. Providing, where appropriate, personal assistance to clients/patients and ensuring privacy, dignity and rights of clients.
13. Helping in the provision of individual and group programmes of care.
14. Participating in group and leisure activities.
15. Attending and contributing to reviews of clients/ patients as appropriate.
16. Participating in programme of formal supervision.
17. Being available to listen and talk to clients/patients.
What you'll need for this role:
18. A minimum of 6 months experience driving buses / coaches.
19. Hold a full current category D driving licence with no restrictions and valid for use in the UK.
20. Hold a current and valid Driver's Qualification Card (DQC).
21. Demonstrated experience in use of passenger tail lifts and passenger ramps and ancillary equipment such as wheelchair webbing and clamps.
22. Understanding of confidentiality.
23. As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake an AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
