Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Dispensary (Band 2 to 3 Progression)
Role Summary
As the Senior Assistant you will assist the Technician in the smooth running of the Dispensary. You will be supervising and assisting with the training of junior staff and carry out a final accuracy check of medications.

Responsibilities
• Assist with dispensing medication for inpatient, outpatient, discharge and Controlled Drug prescriptions.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Supervise and train junior staff and carry out final accuracy checks of medications.
• Participate in flexible working which may include weekend, late duty and Bank Holiday rotas.
Development Pathway
Upon appointment at Band 2, demonstrate competency in hospital pharmacy setting, complete the dispensing accuracy assessment, sign off on the dispensary training manual and complete the PWDS Accuracy Checking course and NVQ L2. Successful completion of these requirements will lead to progression to Band 3. You will not be required to complete the course within the first 12 months.
Working Pattern
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary
Band 3: £25,760–£27,476 per annum pro rata
