Heavy manufacturing company based in Birmingham (B7) are seeking a Compliance Assistant to join our established team
The Role:
To assist the HSE Manager with the efficient running of the department and in meeting health, safety, environmental compliance requirements for SSK and where required Paper UK, as part of our ISO9001, 14001, 45001, 50001 accreditations
· Record off-Site waste transfers, verify information to ensure transfer is correctly described and meets Duty of Care
· Record operational environmental data as necessary for the internal compliance and permit obligations, interpret trends
· Submit data to group and CPI for safety and sustainability indicators
· Liaise with and supervise external parties and contractors as required
· Prepare internal and external reports
· Monitor FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) compliance
· Prepare presentation and attend Departmental HS&E Meetings
· Organise/deliver training as requested
· Carry out internal and support external audits and inspections as requested
· Update electronic and other notice boards monthly
· Maintain and develop safety campaigns
· Update Intelex and the IMS (Integrated Management systems) documents as necessary
· Partake in accident/incident investigation
· Assist in developing HS&E representatives
· Identify ways to improve site HS & E performance
· Respond to queries and provide advice for SHEQ matters
· Assist with the creating, development and trial of policies, procedures, guidance, and assessments
· Assist HSE Manager in any duties and projects across SSK and SK Paper UK, as required

Working Hours:
* 08:30-16:30 with 45 minute unpaid break: 36 hours working week
