Rate of Pay: £25.85- £32.82 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of capital and planned maintenance projects across a diverse commercial property portfolio throughout North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost forecasting, contract administration, and financial management to ensure value for money and commercial compliance at every stage of project delivery. This role combines public sector values with a commercial approach in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
* Manage project finances including cost forecasting, budgeting, and value reconciliation from inception to completion.
* Administer construction contracts and subcontracts, including managing change control processes and negotiating and settling final accounts.
* Provide robust commercial advice and assurance to the project team and clients, ensuring all contractual and commercial matters are handled effectively.
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant governance and legal standards, particularly those related to construction contracts.
* Ensure that all work is delivered in line with NY Highways commitment to public sector values and commercial efficiency.
Essentials:
* HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial/construction discipline.
* Hold a valid CSCS Card (or demonstrate a willingness to obtain one immediately upon appointment).
* Excellent knowledge and practical experience of administering standard construction contracts, specifically the NEC suite of contracts.
* Full UK driving license
