Finance Assistant

Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking for a long-term role in a supportive and friendly environment? We’re looking for a committed Finance Assistant to join a close-knit team in a well-established business based in Suffolk.
As Finance Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of the finance department, ensuring the smooth handling of both purchase and sales ledgers, and contributing to wider financial tasks. This role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and comfortable in a varied, hands-on role within a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger
Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
Maintain purchase records and assist with month-end proceduresSales Ledger
Raise and issue customer invoices and credit notes
Monitor customer accounts, chase outstanding payments, and manage credit control
Reconcile accounts and handle customer queriesGeneral Finance Admin
Assist with bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow
Support month-end and year-end financial reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Liaise with suppliers, customers, and auditors
Contribute to ad-hoc finance tasks and projectsAbout You
Experience in a finance administration role, ideally in a small to medium-sized business
Strong skills in managing purchase and sales ledgers
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Confident user of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
