We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Technician to join our IT Services team, supporting Sandwell, St Michaelβs and Cadbury Colleges.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced educational environment that supports a thriving community of around 15,000 active users across multiple campuses. You will play a key role in providing first- and second-line technical support, ensuring staff and students have reliable access to the systems, devices and applications they need to teach, learn and work effectively.
Based initially at our Spon Lane campus in West Bromwich, the role may also involve working across other college sites on either a temporary or permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
* Respond to IT Helpdesk and support requests, delivering timely first- and second-line support
* Install, configure, maintain and relocate IT equipment including PCs, laptops, Apple Macs, thin clients, tablets and peripherals
* Support and deploy software applications and desktop builds using the Desktop Management System
* Administer user accounts and assist with access-related queries
* Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network connectivity issues, including Cat6 patching
* Support staff and students with college systems, processes and technology-related queries
* Advise users on the most suitable digital solutions to meet their needs
* Maintain documentation, asset registers and audit records
* Promote IT service standards, policies, security and confidentiality
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Advanced Level qualification or equivalent in an IT-related subject
* GCSE English and Maths
* Experience working in a busy IT support environment, ideally within education
* Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, software installation and peripheral support
* Experience using desktop management tools to deploy software and policies
* Access to your own vehicle with business insurance desirable
* Full clean UK driving license desirable
