Speech & Language Therapist - Children's Services

Looking for a Band 5 rolein the NHS? We offer a 2 year postqualification programme of teaching, mentor support, clinical supervision andCPD to kick start your career. Our Band5 therapists have the opportunity to work in a range of clinical areas,delivering therapy and working with families and colleagues in schools andearly years settings.
Whatdo you need to know?
All our Band 5 therapists have a comprehensiveinduction programme with mentor support, clinical supervision and CPD duringthe first 2 years post qualification
Were a Balanced System service we work in anevidence-based way at a universal, targeted and specialist level.
Were a supportive team, working together in settingsand schools
We have excellent admin support with two main adminbases
All our team are equipped to do their job weinvest in resources/equipment, so we have what we need on a daily basis
None of our team were redeployed during the pandemic;we were back to face-to-face work in Sept 2020 with new investment from ourcommissioners to support children disadvantaged by covid
This is a full time post
Main duties of the job
What are the potential opportunities within this role?
Working across a range of clinical areas to give youa broad clinical experience as a Band 5 therapist. This may include:
-Working within our early years service based in FamilyHubs the first point of contact for many of our children and their families
-Working within our mainstream school servicedelivering support from a universal to a specialist level
-Working within specialist provision such as languageclasses, special schools or autism bases

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Assessment of speech, language and communication difficulties, differential diagnosis of SLCN, knowledge of therapy interventions
* Knowledge of The Balanced System approach and framework and what implementation of this looks like in speech and language therapy services, schools and settings
Additional Criteria
* Able to travel efficiently to meet the needs of the job travelling from setting to setting
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in English both verbally and in writing
Qualifications
* Qualification in speech and language therapy plus certificate to practice issued by the College of Speech and Language Therapists
* Member of health professionals council
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Experience
* Experience gained through training
