Offer description

Industrial Relations Business Partner (16404)

We are easyJet – a FTSE‑100 listed, £multi‑billion low‑cost airline that serves tens of millions of customers every single year. If you’re reading this, you have probably already been an easyJet customer, and you’ll know that there is no more iconic (or Orange!) travel brand in Europe.

We fly more than 1,207 routes, connecting 38 countries across Europe, and employ more than 19,000 colleagues. We’re on a mission to make low‑cost travel easy – and whatever your role here, you’ll connect millions of people to what they love using Europe’s best airline network, great value fares, and friendly service.

Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Relations Business Partner, where you will play a pivotal role in mobilising, organising, and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders. As part of a small, dedicated team, your exceptional relationship and communication skills will be essential in navigating the complexities of our work group representatives across the network. You will need to embrace and understand cultural differences, building a collaborative environment that influences our organisational culture. Your ability to engage with various stakeholders will be crucial to the success of our department and the overall mission of easyJet.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in industrial relations, ensuring that easyJet maintains positive and progressive relationships with our union and works council partners. You will lead negotiations on industrial agreements within specific jurisdictions, preparing key stakeholders for engagement while adhering to our mandating process and strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include advising people managers and Country Leadership teams on industrial relations matters, integrating the local and national IR agenda into people plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Additionally, you will analyse local and national IR data to identify insights and opportunities, contributing to the continuous improvement of our industrial relations practices.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

To do this role you will be a business focused IR specialist with a strong commercial mindset, capable of balancing cost, quality, and fairness to deliver the best value for the company. You will have a delivery focused, can‑do attitude and demonstrate creative thinking to achieve results. With extensive IR experience, including regular negotiations with trade unions and works councils across Europe, you will be adept at framing legal and negotiated IR issues into practical implications for easyJet. You will excel in change management within a dynamic, fast‑paced European environment, emphasising delivery, cooperation, and cross‑functional collaboration. You will have the ability to draw insights from data, providing persuasive challenges to drive change and improvement, while also influencing, challenging, and building trust at senior levels to facilitate cross‑functional decision‑making. Strong project management, influencing, and negotiation skills, combined with sensitive people skills and a high level of emotional intelligence, will enable you to navigate complex people issues effectively. You must be able to work under pressure, challenge appropriately, and demonstrate presence and credibility within the organisation, communicating effectively with individuals at all levels. A willingness to travel as required is also essential.

Location & Hours of Work

This full‑time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office. There may be travel required.

What you’ll get in return

* Competitive base salary
* Up to 30% bonus
* 25 days holiday
* BAYE, SAYE & Performance share schemes
* 7% pension
* Life Assurance
* Flexible benefits package
* Excellent staff travel benefits
