Family Solicitor Location: Gillingham Salary – £DOE Full TimePurpose To undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the Firm. To ensure the successful development of the Firm in line with the business plan.Job Description The role includes but is not limited to the following:Family Law, including separation, divorce and finances upon divorceChildren MattersDomestic abuse and domestic violence injunctions, divorce and children lawTOLATA claimsDrafting legal documentation to include Cohabitation Agreements and Prenuptial AgreementsFinancial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account and billing proceduresProviding assistance to other fee earners within the office/Firm as required particularly during periods of sick leave or holiday absenceTo minimise risk in dealing with all work and ensure that all files are managed in accordance with the Firm’s risk and file management proceduresTo carry out all work in accordance with procedures and systems documented in the Office Manual, and the Firm’s training seminars.Supervision of fee-earning work undertaken by colleaguesThe Candidate To be successful in your application, you will possess the following attributes:Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or equivalentYou will be a Family Solicitor who has expertise in all aspects of family law It is likely that you will be 2 years PQE upwards although this level is a guide only.Ability to manage own case load with or without support staffUtilise the firm’s practice and case management systemAbility to assist with the marketing of the departmentTo bill clients in accordance with notified charging rates in accordance with time spent on the client file and to achieve financial targets for incomeStrong IT skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsYou will need to be dependable and flexible to business needs, as overtime will be required occasionally to include working weekends
