Cornwall Councils Disabled Children and Therapy Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist Team Lead to join our supportive and passionate service. Main duties of the job
As the Team Lead, you will be expected to:
* Provide leadership and professional supervision to a team of occupational therapists.
* Work collaboratively with social care colleagues, health professionals, education staff, and voluntary agencies to support children and young people with complex needs.
* Carry a small caseload of children with the most complex needs, with a focus on clinical expertise in housing adaptations, specialist equipment, and promoting independence.
* Contribute to service development, ensuring our practice remains innovative, child-centred, and evidence-based.
* Support and develop staff through supervision and training.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Job responsibilities
The Disabled Children and Therapy Team is a community based service made up of OTs, Social Workers, Disabled Children's Family Workers, Portage workers and Supporting Change in Partnership (SCIP) workers. They all assess children at home, in school and in their short break settings. The OTs will make recommendations for equipment and adaptations in these settings that allow them to achieve their full potential in independence and daily living skills.
This is a part time post working 26.25 hours per week. There is some flexibility on these hours but to ensure there is team lead cover throughout the week we are preferably looking for someone to work the end of the week.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
* Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Bachelors or Masters
* Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by the HCPC for the purposes of registration in the UK.
* Registered with Health & Care Professions Council
Experience
* Proven experience working in an Occupational Therapy community or clinical setting at Band 6 level.
* A high level of specific professional expertise in Occupational Therapy, including knowledge of conditions, treatment, and best practice for children and young people.
* Ability to carry out risk assessments.
