While this appointment is for a Classroom Teacher, we are a school committed to professional growth. We anticipate some possible exciting leadership opportunities in the new academic year; however, this is by no means a requirement for application. We welcome interest from dedicated classroom practitioners at all career stages. If you happen to be interested in potentially furthering your leadership skills, please feel free to make this known in your application. Depending on the nature of any future responsibilities, remuneration would be offered via the Upper Pay Scale (UPS) or a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment.
This post falls into the category of Regulated Activity. Sherwell Valley Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service and a basic full name search on Google. An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
We are looking for:
We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated practitioner who will embody our core values and school vision in their daily practice. You will be a Resilient educator, undeterred by challenges and steadfast in your belief in every child’s potential. By fostering a culture of Respect and Collaboration, you will work seamlessly with our staff team to enhance our learning environment, while taking personal
Responsibility for driving pupil progress. Above all, you will hold the highest Aspiration for our pupils, using your natural ability to inspire a lifelong love of learning and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Resilience: In the classroom, this means modelling a "growth mindset" for pupils; you view setbacks in pupil progress as opportunities to adapt your pedagogy and persist until every child grasps the concept.
Respect: You cultivate an inclusive atmosphere where every pupil feels valued, creating the psychological safety necessary for pupils to take risks, ask questions, and engage deeply with the curriculum.
Collaboration: Teaching is not a solo endeavour; you actively engage in peer observations and shared planning to ensure our high-quality teaching strategies are consistent and impactful across all year groups.
Responsibility: You take proactive ownership of your data and professional development, ensuring that timely interventions and high-quality feedback are consistently used to accelerate pupil outcomes.
Aspiration: By setting "glass-ceiling-free" expectations, you challenge pupils to exceed their own perceived limits, ensuring that your lesson delivery is both rigorous and empowering.
