Locum occupational therapist required to cover the Duty Occupational Therapy service within the single point of access due to OT vacancy in the team. Essential to deliver front line statutory services to Enfield residents.
Purpose of the Role:
To use skills, knowledge, and understanding of practice within the area of specialism to support and deliver in the development of service provision by:
* Making appropriate use of local, departmental, and independent resources
* Maintaining high standards of professional practice within your own workload
* Using advanced skills, knowledge, and understanding of the area of specialism to assist in the development of service provision and promote independence, choice, and control for service users
* Carrying out all duties within a quality and equalities framework based on Council policy and performance targets, professional standards, and best practice.
Skills and Competencies:
Essential criteria include:
* Ability to implement a self-directed approach in line with the personalisation agenda and the Safeguarding Adults policy for the Council
* Effective communication skills, including report writing, presenting, negotiating, and IT proficiency
* Resource planning and maximization
* Negotiation skills with customers to meet their needs
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment and liaise with carers, families, and other agencies
* Initiative and team working skills, workload management, flexibility
* Implementation and monitoring of quality standards
* Assessment skills in line with Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act
* Competence in resource allocation systems
* Proficiency with IT systems supporting Personalisation (Quickheart and Care First)
Experience and Knowledge:
* Experience delivering services using computerised systems
* Experience working with vulnerable adults
* Experience of performance management
* Knowledge of the health and social care integration agenda, legislative frameworks, and good practice guidance
Qualifications:
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the College of Occupational Therapists
* Registered with the Health Professions Council
