Duties: Delivery of one-to-one and small group support, both in and out of class, in collaboration with a wide range of different teaching and learning support professionals. To support students in line with their individual needs and/or Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP) To assist with student related administrative e.g. regularly updating student plans in line with their SEN needs/ EHCP To assist students to take full part in learning activities in equal terms with other students on programme To support the teachers in promoting the behaviour that is required to maintain a positive and productive learning environment To ensure the support provided is effective in meeting the needs of students and will lead to successful outcomes and progression Contribute to the development of the Learning Support team by attending staff meetings and in service training as appropriate To be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young and vulnerable adults To become familiar with the use of SEN specialist equipment for the benefit of the student To complete relevant records and perform administrative duties relating to students with additional support needs Skills/experience: You will have experience or the potential to become an outstanding learning support assistant. Experience of supporting individuals to achieve their goals. Well organised and hold an excellent range of communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft IT packages. Qualifications: Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent. Level 2 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent desirable.
