Our industrial placement programs last 10 to 12 months and are designed for students during a year out from university, after completing a bachelor's degree, and before starting a postgraduate course. Operating across various sectors, we offer projects that align with your academic interests and career aspirations.
During the placement, you'll collaborate with graduates, experienced professionals, and fellow students, providing a valuable learning environment and insight into our company culture. You'll also engage with real projects, gaining relevant experience.
This role is with the Birmingham Bridges and Civil Structures team, working on a variety of projects, including the design of active travel, highway, and rail structures, as well as asset management and sustainable repair methods. You will receive support from our experts to develop your structural experience for your future studies.
Candidate Specification
To qualify for this placement, you must be enrolled in a university degree program and possess the following:
* A methodical approach to problem solving
* Ability to use initiative to complete tasks independently
* Excellent verbal communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
* Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce technical drawings and reports
