Main duties of the job
You must have HCPC registration as a radiographer and postgraduate award in mammography.
You will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team providing both screening and symptomatic breast imaging to the population of North and West Cumbria, gaining a wealth of experience in breast imaging supported by the existing team.
The North Cumbria Breast Screening Unit provides screening to approximately 22,500 women per year between the ages of 50‑70 as part of the National Health Service Breast Programme.
Disclosure and Barring Service
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 (Exceptions Order) and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Costs of DBS checks: Standard Check: £21.50 plus administration £6.50 = £28.00, deducted from salary over 4 months or a one‑off payment; Enhanced Check: £49.50 plus administration £6.50 = £56.00, deducted from salary over 4 months or a one‑off payment.

Qualifications
* Good command of the English language with a good standard of literacy and numeracy
* Postgraduate qualifications at Masters level in mammographic practice
* Essential IT skills or equivalent
Experience
* Wide range of practical experience
* Experience of supervision of less experienced radiographers, students and departmental staff
* National Health Service Breast Screening Service Programme for England
