Job summary
The Theatre Scrub Practitioner will operate within a dynamic orthopaedic department, supporting a range of subspecialties including hip and knee arthroplasty, sports injuries, spinal surgery, foot and ankle procedures, hand and upper limb interventions, tumour surgeries, and paediatric orthopaedics.
There may also be opportunities to progress into a dual-role position encompassing both scrub and anaesthetic responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
Deliver safe, high-quality care efficiently within the theatre complex.
Manage the team as a team leader, participating as an active member of the scrub and circulating team in a designated highly specialist area without supervision as appropriate using all forms of knowledge, skills and experience required in order to be able to undertake the duties competently such as check the instruments and implants for the list and any other equipment that is necessary.
The post holder will take responsibility for the Theatre Scrub Team in the absence of the Band 7 Manager, who has continuing 24-hour responsibility. They will hold responsibility for staff management in theabsence of the Theatre Manager
