Overview
There is a vacancy for a Psychology Assistant to join two Fife-wide Adult Mental Health Teams: The Digital Therapy Team (0.5 wte) and the Psychology Enhanced Engagement Team (PEET) (0.5 wte). The main base is Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline, with travel across the Fife region required.
Laid out across two teams, the Digital Therapies Team (DTT) provides support to service users and clinical services in delivering digital psychological therapies, including promoting self-referral digital therapies and encouraging referrals to commissioned services. PEET provides evidence-based low intensity interventions for people with mild to moderate emotional needs, using self-help materials, computerised CBT (cCBT) or apps, with opportunities for service design, evaluation and training involvement.
Responsibilities
* Support delivery of digital psychological therapies and engagement with digital programmes (e.g., Silvercloud, Sleepio, Daylight, Mindler) for people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
* Work with a Clinical Psychologist and the wider team to support implementation, promotion and evaluation of digital therapies in Fife.
* Assist with service design and upskilling related to digital psychological therapies as part of national commitments.
* Participate in ongoing audit and evaluation of the service; support delivery of group psychoeducational interventions (e.g., Step on Stress).
* Provide or support access to low intensity psychological interventions and signposting to community resources; assist with cCBT resources such as SilverCloud modules and other online tools (e.g., CCI).
* Receive regular clinical supervision from a clinical psychologist or clinical associate, and regular management supervision.
* May assist one of the three locality AMH Psychology teams with file reviews, group audits and evaluation.
* Contribute to a large, area-wide Psychology Service with strong links to universities and opportunities for placements and professional development.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom with appropriate right to work or sponsorship as applicable; pre-employment checks including PVG scheme are required.
* Be prepared to undergo pre-employment checks as part of NHS Scotland processes and GOV.UK guidance on immigration and right to work.
* Demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity in the workforce.
Working Arrangements and Benefits
As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours; part-time hours will be pro-rata with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
