We're looking for a skilled Water Treatment Engineer to carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of water treatment systems and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with Legionella control standards. The role focuses on softeners, chlorine dioxide and UV systems, alongside general plumbing and remedial works, supporting water hygiene and risk management for commercial and industrial clients across the UK.
What you will do
* Install, commission, service, and repair water treatment plant and associated equipment, including water softeners, chlorine dioxide dosing systems, UV disinfection units, and reverse osmosis systems (where applicable).
* Carry out fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs.
* Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with water quality and Legionella control standards.
* Assess site requirements and specify appropriate plant type and size.
Remedial & Plumbing Works (as required):
* TMV installation and maintenance.
* Tank replacements and refurbishments.
* Pipework modifications and dead-leg removal.
* Water heater and calorifier upgrades.
* General plumbing tasks linked to water hygiene.
Client & Operational Duties:
* Build strong client relationships and provide on-site technical support.
* Complete all documentation, service reports, and compliance records accurately.
* Prepare tools, equipment, and PPE for daily tasks in line with company procedures.
Health, Safety & Teamwork:
* Adhere to all health and safety policies and company guidelines.
* Report hazards and ensure correct use of PPE at all times.
* Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and contribute to training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who you are
* Proven experience installing, commissioning, fault-finding, and maintaining water treatment plant (e.g., softeners, chlorine dioxide, UV systems), with remedial plumbing experience in water hygiene environments.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
* Sound knowledge of chemical dosing, softening processes, disinfection systems, and Legionella control regulations (L8, HSG274).
* Ability to interpret Legionella risk assessments and implement effective control measures.
* Good understanding of commercial and domestic water systems, pipework, and health & safety practices (including COSHH and risk assessments).
* Effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 Plumbing & Heating or equivalent), health & safety training, and a full UK driving licence; Legionella certification desirable.
