About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team in Portsmouth. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a child with additional needs, ensuring they can thrive and make the best possible progress in a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
As a Teaching Assistant you will provide 1:1 support to a child in EYFS, both in and out of the classroom
As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies
As a Teaching Assistant you will encourage social, emotional, and academic development
As a Teaching Assistant you will foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for the child
As a Teaching Assistant you will liaise with parents, carers, and outside professionals where appropriate
What We're Looking For in a teaching assistant
As a Teaching Assistant you will have experience working with children in EYFS, ideally in a 1:1 or SEND support role
As a Teaching Assistant you will have patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
As a Teaching Assistant you will have a strong communication and teamwork skills
As a Teaching Assistant you will have a positive attitude and genuine passion for helping children succeed
As a Teaching Assistant you will have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
