Overview

Join to apply for the High Intensity Therapist - Cognitive Behavioural Therapist role at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will provide high intensity interventions within an NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) service, delivering evidence-based therapies to adults in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW) as part of a locality team within the STW Psychological Therapies Service.

The service uses a stepped care model and NICE-approved approaches to address a range of mental health issues. The post holder will work with clients who have depression and anxiety disorders, and will use IAPT modalities including CBT and other NICE-recommended therapies. The role involves working with clients from diverse backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and upholding equal opportunities and access to treatment.

Responsibilities

* Maintain an individual caseload, working independently and using own initiative. Responsible for direct delivery of clinical work with concentrated focus and exposure to emotionally charged situations.
* Undertake client-centred interviews to identify areas for change and assess risk to self and others.
* Use a recognised theoretical framework and specialist knowledge to formulate individual care programmes.
* Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
* Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.
* Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment when appropriate.
* Complete data collection requirements within the service and keep coherent clinical records in line with service protocols.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements within a stepped care approach.
* Assess and integrate work and employment-related issues into the therapy process.
