Chubb Tempest Re is the third-party reinsurance arm of the Chubb Limited Group, with operations in London, Hamilton (Bermuda), and Stamford.
The marine & energy treaty reinsurance division is currently seeking an enthusiastic, technical, and driven individual to lead their team. The individual will be responsible for maintaining and growing the portfolio through broker and client engagement.
Additionally, they will provide coaching and mentoring to support the development of junior team members.
The candidate must be able to strategize, communicate effectively, manage time efficiently, and operate within a dynamic team environment.
This role reports directly to the Head of Short Tail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage with all stakeholders, including brokers, clients, and internal Chubb functions.
* Lead underwriting and processing of new business, renewals, and endorsements.
* Liaise with brokers and internal departments for credit control, claims, and risk information.
* Analyze underwriting submissions to assess risk quality and appetite.
* Contribute to periodic reports such as production, exposure summaries, and rate movements.
* Manage aggregation and catastrophe modeling in collaboration with the Cat Team.
* Ensure adherence to all financial, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
* Attend technical presentations and training programs internally and externally.
* Travel to meet with international clients and brokers.
* Provide advice, guidance, and training to junior team members.
* Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Head of Short Tail.
Qualifications:
* Marine and energy underwriting or broking background, either in insurance or reinsurance.
* Minimum A-Level, preferably a Degree or equivalent.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* ACII qualified or working towards accreditation.
