The Patient services team is the face of the surgery and first point of contact for our patients.</p><p>Your main objective is answering incoming calls and digital request forms from patients needing appointment management, as well as assisting patients with general enquiries.</p><p>Helping patients who attend the practice face to face with their enquiries.</p><p>Responsible for the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.</p><p>Primary key responsibilities</p><p>The following are the core responsibilities of the Patient Services Team member. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:</p><p>Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.</p><p>Process telephone and e-requests for appointments</p><p>Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.</p><p>Signpost patients to the correct service</p><p>Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies</p><p>Photocopy documentation as required.</p><p>Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.</p><p>Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary</p><p>Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.</p><p>Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.</p><p>Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.</p><p>Work in accordance with GDPR guidelines.</p><p>Additional adhoc tasks requested by clinical staff or management.</p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent</p><ul><li>Contributory Company pension scheme</li><li>Free flu jabs</li><li>On-site parking</li><li>Sick pay</li></ul><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li>Monday to Friday</li><li>Weekend availability</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>- Minimum requirements: GCSEs, O Levels or equivalent.</li><li>- Significant experience of working as part of a team for a minimum</li><li>of 2 years</li><li>- Experience of working with the general public both face to face</li><li>and on the phone.</li><li>- Experience of working in a pressurised environment and the ability</li><li>to make appropriate decisions</li><li>- Ability to work flexibly and to respond positively to change</li><li>- Excellent keyboard skills</li><li>- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion</li><li>- Exceptional attention to detail</li><li>- Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>- Calm and empathetic demeanour</li><li>- Previous experience working in a GP Practice is essential</li><li>- Due to the nature and pace of the role, applications from candidates without GP practice experience will not be considered.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p>
