We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a surveyor to concentrate on the management of an existing client’s coastal estate. This is a professional role suited to a commercial or rural asset management surveyor with responsibility for delivering a mix of valuation, management, landlord and tenant, and wider professional work. Alongside the coastal estate responsibilities, the role will also involve supporting on a range of wider infrastructure, and property related matters, while helping to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Team:
You will be part of a collaborative team working across a broad range of coastal, marine, infrastructure, and asset management matters. The work is varied and interesting, with no two days the same, and includes a mix of day-to-day management responsibilities as well as more specialist and complex cases. Although a significant part of the role will focus on the management of a coastal estate, the successful candidate will also support the wider team on other infrastructure and property related matters. The team works closely together across different work types, clients, and projects, so it is important that you are comfortable working collaboratively, sharing knowledge, and supporting the development of others. It is a professional but approachable environment, with good opportunity to develop your experience, build client relationships, and contribute to the wider growth of the business.
* Day to day management of a coastal estate across the North of England.
* Manage existing infrastructure and marine related commercial lettings including Jetties and wharfs, bridges and tunnels, pipelines & cables, marinas and moorings, aquaculture and other coastal development projects.
* Undertake rent reviews and lease renewals.
* Handle new enquiries and negotiate lease, licence, disposals, and consents.
* Manage encroachments on the client’s land.
* Promote Health and Safety across the estate.
* Attend forums, tenant, and client events.
* Contribution to the growth of the business by identifying and developing viable fee earning opportunities including general professional work.
* Develop and cross sell commercial and infrastructure opportunities.
* Provision of sound financial and client reporting as required from time to time.
What will it take to be successful?
We are seeking an RICS qualified Surveyor with experience ideally gained within a professional services or consultancy environment, with a strong understanding of the property market and its application to infrastructure and coastal assets.
You will ideally have experience working on infrastructure projects, with the ability to operate across different property sectors and manage multiple instructions effectively. A good working knowledge in relevant legislation is expected, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deal with varied and complex cases.
You should be confident in managing relationships, commercially aware, and comfortable taking ownership of work while contributing to wider business objectives. A full driving licence is required given the nature of the role.
Location: The post holder can be based at either our Leeds or Warrington Office. Hybrid/Flexible available.
