What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an IBA Technician to support our IBA Lead, making sure all finance activities are handled in line with regulatory requirements and internal service levels.
You'll need demonstrable knowledge of the CASS rules as you’ll be monitoring incoming payments and overseeing refunds as well as setting up and maintaining finance agreements.
You need to have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, as you’ll be monitoring claims payments, defaults and cancellations as well as overseeing credit control.
You’ll be making sure that daily, weekly and month-end finance reconciliations and routines are completed in line with specified practices and procedures, so the ability to work to deadlines is essential.
Some of the things you'll get up to:
1. Monitoring and overseeing incoming payments and refunds, as well as setting up, cancelling and maintaining finance agreements with Close Finance
2. Reconciliations of cheques, card and BACS payments against the broking systems
3. Overseeing credit control
4. Ensuring broking accounts are aligned with the month-end process performed by management accountant
5. Regularly reviewing output of the IBA team (client side) and escalating issues to the IBA Lead
6. Supporting the IBA lead in operational management of the IBA Team
7. Ensuring that all accounting processes follow best practice principles
8. Ensuring that daily, weekly and month-end finance reconciliations and routines are completed on time and in line with specified practices and procedures
9. Ensuring that all documentation and processes fall within agreed service standards and FCA regulations
10. Regularly reviewing, maintaining and where required, improving accounts procedures, manuals, systems and processes
We’d like you to have:
1. Demonstrable knowledge of the CASS rules
2. Good IT skills particularly with Excel and MS Word
3. Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas
4. Excellent telephone manner and the ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external customers and suppliers
5. A good level of English, both written and oral
6. Excellent numeric skills
7. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise the department’s own workload
8. Ability to work within a Team environment and to assist team members where required
