Fantastic opportunity for talented and creative individuals to join our expanding Kitchen Team at _Ye Olde Fleece Inn_, in Kendal. We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef, or a Junior Sous Chef that is felling ready to progress further.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the menu and recipes
- Oversee and coordinate food preparation and cooking activities
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and specials
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role in a busy establishment.
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious dishes
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen staff and management team
