Specialist Doctor - Diabetes and Endocrinology
Permanent position for a Specialist Doctor in Diabetes and Endocrinology within the Adult Medicine department. The post holder will be based at Tameside General Hospital, within the Department of Medicine. Main activities include outpatient clinics, ward rounds and on calls for general internal medicine.

Responsibilities
* Participate in various outpatient activities including the medical management of patients attending outpatient clinics.
* Ensure the effective organisation of the ward including diagnosis and treatment of all patients admitted.
* Provide discharge planning, including timely paperwork to the General Practitioner to ensure continuity of care following discharge.
* Provide direct clinical supervision and training of Ward Junior Medical Staff and organise/delegate clinical work.
* Monitor quality of service in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Department, including clinical audits.
* Participate in committees and working groups and contribute to development of medical treatment protocols.
* Provide professional supervision under Consultant guidance to develop all doctors within the Emergency Services and Critical Care Division.
* Contribute to the provision of reports for the Coroner, Police Statements and Complaints management adhering to time frames.
* Comply with all relevant Trust Policies and Procedures.
* Undertake regular on-call duties for acute medical on-call rota.
