About the Role To lead the organisation’s agricultural strategy and sustainability agenda, ensuring resilient supply chains, strong grower relationships, and measurable environmental impact. The role will drive improvements in crop quality, regenerative practices, carbon reduction, biodiversity, ethical sourcing, and regulatory compliance. Within this strategic leadership position, you will influence senior stakeholders, growers, suppliers, and industry bodies. You will be responsible for leading and developing our Agricultural Teams. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement agricultural strategies that support growth, supply security, and product quality. Lead sustainability plans covering net-zero, regenerative farming, biodiversity, and resource efficiency. Advise Senior Management on agricultural risks, innovation, and regulatory changes. Lead and Develop our Agricultural Team Prepare and Deliver Annual Budgets Agricultural To bring specialist experience of farming through operating in a similar role, in order to upskill our UK organisation. Support with all Greenyard grower relationships and lead pricing negotiations. During peak seasonal periods, balance growers' needs and production efficiency in order to maintain a continuous stream of raw material at the right quality and price, whilst adhering to the standards set by Greenyard Group. Support the Agricultural Team on planning annual production standards and annual supply cycles. Build strong relationships with growers and suppliers locally and internationally. Ensure product quality, food safety, and technical compliance across all products. Ensure compliance with schemes such as Red Tractor, LEAF, Global G.A.P, RSPO, and BRC where applicable. Monitor evolving agricultural, environmental, and food legislation. Act as a Spokesperson on agricultural and sustainability matters. Lead agricultural sustainability strategies aligned with UK legislation, DEFRA, and SBTI frameworks. Manage climate risk mitigation with our growers Represent the organisation in industry groups, government consultations, and agricultural sustainability focus. Deliver measurable progress in line with the Group Plan. Leadership and People Management Lead and develop a team of agricultural specialists. Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. Support training and capability building across teams and supply partners. Qualifications Essential Qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Sustainability, or related discipline. Strong technical understanding of UK agriculture and sustainability frameworks. Senior Leadership experience in agriculture, food production, sustainability, or supply chains in a sizeable business similar to ours. Operational awareness and understanding. Track record delivering agricultural strategies. Experience managing complex supplier and grower networks. Experience engaging with regulators and industry bodies. Desirable MSc, MBA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Professional membership (AgrE, BASIS, FACTS, IEMA). Experience across multiple farming systems (arable, horticulture). International supply chain experience. Required Skills Strong understanding of UK agriculture legislation Strategic thinker with executive-level influence skills. Preferred Skills FULL UK Driving licence and ability to travel frequently. Willingness to undertake occasional international travel.
