We have exciting opportunities for Casual Theatre Technicians to join us at the Core Theatre in Solihull. With a fast-paced work environment, plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and the chance to help create unforgettable performances for our audiences, this is a great time to become part of our professional team.Hours will include evenings and weekends, but we can be flexible based around your personal commitments.
The Core Theatre is a buzzing multi-purpose arts venue right in the heart of Solihull town centre.Home to a 336-seat raked theatre, a vibrant gallery space and a flexible multi-use studio it’s a hub of creativity and entertainment.
As a Casual Core Theatre Technician, you will:
* Work as part of the Theatre Technical Team providing technical services for The Core.
* This includes setting up Sound, Lighting and Video packages for touring shows.
* Operating sound and lighting for shows, this can include creative and design elements in both departments.
* Assisting in the setting up of Stage included Hemp Flying and set building as needed.
* Ensure suitable Health & Safety practices are followed.
We’re getting ready to relaunch our busy programme of events and we need passionate enthusiastic technicians to help bring it all to life! From live music and comedy to drama, dance and everything in between no two nights are the same.You’ll support an exciting mix of professional and amateur performances working with everyone from local drama groups to national touring companies who love the energy and loyal audiences at The Core.
Add to that our hugely popular Christmas pantomime and a lively schedule of daytime classes and activities, and you’ve got a role that’s as varied as it is rewarding. If you’re looking for hands-on experience in a fast paced, creative environment – we’d love to hear from you.
You will have previous technical experience of working in a theatrical or venue environment, be able work on your own initiative and be an excellent communicator.You will also be able to work at height, and due to the nature of the role, be able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
