Job Purpose
To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.
Key Accountabilities
* To maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
* To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
* To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
* To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
* To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the days work.
* To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
* To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
* To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
* Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
* To always maintain a smart appearance.
* To help maintain good customer relations.
* To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
* Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Essential
* A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven.
* Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent Customer care.
* Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy.
Desirable
* Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
* Route planning experience.
Manual Handling
It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.
