Join to apply for the Supporting Church Buildings - Can you help? role at Diocese of Worcester.
We are seeking individuals with expertise in various areas to support our Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC). Could you assist?
The Worcester DAC advises on the care, repair, and development of churches in the Diocese of Worcester, covering most of Worcestershire, Dudley borough, and surrounding areas.
The committee comprises specialists in church and historic building management who assist parishes with church and churchyard management and advise on applications for changes to churches through the Faculty Jurisdiction process. The committee meets seven times annually, with additional visits to churches. Specialist advisers, who may not attend meetings, support the work. The Diocesan Board of Finance's church buildings staff team supports the committee.
We are interested in potential members and advisers with expertise in the following areas:
* Building Surveying / Quantity Surveying / Project Management
* Accredited building or object conservation
* Ecology / Biodiversity
* AV and technical support
* Lived experience with accessibility issues for Disabled people
From Gareth Doodes, Chair of the DAC: "Thank you for your interest in joining the DAC and volunteering to support Worcestershire and Dudley's churches. Your expertise helps care for our historic church buildings and churchyards, working with clergy, congregations, professionals, and bodies to keep these spaces relevant today and for future generations."
