About The Role

Are you passionate about outdoor sports and eager to inspire the next generation!

We are seeking an experienced Outdoor Pursuits Lecturer to join our well-established, and respected sports team to deliver theoretical and practical lessons to Further Education students utilising the University College’s amazing sports facilities, gym and sports halls, as well as the reservoir on our 200-hectare estate. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning across a range of BTEC Sport and Outdoor Activity programmes, inspiring students through dynamic and practical instruction in a variety of sport and outdoor disciplines.

You will have outdoor sports and general sports coaching experience and able to deliver theoretical and practical lessons. This is a role within ARU Writtle primarily delivering to 16–18-year-old students at the FE college.

This role includes course management and working closely with the other Further Education teams.

To succeed, you will have a desire to develop a diversity of learners, along with up-to-date knowledge to allow the sharing of best practices to both students and team members. To be successful in this role you will have a level 2 GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, two A levels or Vocational qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent. You will also have an appropriate endorsed teaching qualification (or willingness to commence studies within 1 year of employment).

It is expected that interviews will take place on 30 July 2025
