You will help regulate and decarbonise these sectors, supporting new sustainable power sources and protecting the environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance, and training.
* Develop strategy for energy sectors and produce tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes.
* Commission and manage external research projects where needed.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, trade associations and other key industry players.
* Respond to incidents and provide business continuity support during an incident.
Experience & Skills Required
* Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, and encourage consideration of diversity issues.
* Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge in energy sectors including control measures for emissions to air.
* Experience of working within or regulating combustion plants, waste incineration, refineries, or similar processes.
* Strong relationship building and communication skills with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies and academia.
* Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
