Overview

A pivotal role to support the Primary, Community and Complex and Long-Term Care Division in delivering outstanding, high-quality care in line with the Place-Based Care model. The portfolio includes professional leadership of the Complex and Long-Term Care Team and driving key strategic priorities, including delivery of the Six Goals for Urgent Care. You will play a critical role in shaping services that meet the needs of our communities now and in the future.


Main duties

The post holder will be responsible for taking the lead on agreed nursing development programmes, recruitment and retention, measuring and improving standards of care and the patient experience, in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints. The postholder is pivotal to ensuring safe, timely and compassionate care to patients and service users across and beyond designated areas.

The post holder is a senior nursing professional within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB), providing a professional and lead role within Primary Care, Community Services and Complex and Long-Term Care Division. As a senior member of the Nursing Division, supporting the Divisional Nurse/Associate Director of Nursing, Primary Care, Community Services and Complex and Long-Term Care the post holder will have designated responsibility for the provision of clinical and professional nursing assurance and expertise on all issues related to nursing and patient care and experience within designated areas across the Division.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

* Registered Nurse
* First level degree in nursing
* Educated to MSc level in nursing/health care related subject or demonstrate experience equivalent to this level of education.
* Comprehensive continual professional development portfolio

Desirable criteria

* Leadership/ Management development programme/certificate
* Community Nursing qualification


Interview

Essential criteria

* Highly developed communication skills
* Significant demonstrable knowledge and experience of transforming services
* Experience of leading and managing conflicting priorities and demonstrating ability to provide stability to the team
* Significant experience and in-depth knowledge in a number of disciplines

Desirable criteria

* Welsh language speaker
